After you've applied for a bond loan or rental grant
Your application should be assessed within 4 working days after it has been received and we will notify you of the outcome.
You can check the status of your application online or via the free Housing Assist Qld app. You will need:
- either your application reference number (which starts with BLW) if you applied online or your bond loan number
- your date of birth.
Note: the status of your application will only change as it moves through the assessment process.
If you have any questions about your application, call us on 1300 650 282 or email bondloan@housing.qld.gov.au.
After bond loans are approved
If your Bond Loan, Bridging Bond Loan, or Bond Loan Plus application is approved, we will send you:
- an approval letter
- a copy of your bond loan agreement.
We will also send your property owner or manager a bond lodgement form (Form 2C). They must sign and lodge the form with the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) as soon as possible to confirm your tenancy has started.
After the RTA processes the lodgement form, we pay the funds for your bond to the RTA.
If you have been approved for a Bond Loan Plus, we will pay the 2 weeks rent directly to your property owner or manager. Your first rent payment may be due before we process your application. Make sure you have funds available for your first rent payment as per your tenancy agreement.
After a Rental Grant is approved
If your Rental Grant is approved, we will send you an approval letter.
We will also send a confirmation of tenancy form to your property owner or manager. Once they return the form to us, we will pay the rental grant directly to them.
Your first rent payment may be due before we process your application. Make sure you have funds available for your first rent payment as per your tenancy agreement.
